Big Changes for Our Little Guys

As some of you know, we have struggled with our Preschool options for Anthony. Our current daycare provider does not drive the kids anywhere so if he was to go to day time preschool we would have had to get him back & forth. There was no way we could do that with our jobs. In our school district they had an evening preschool and Anthony has attended on Monday & Wednesday nights since September. It's been very difficult because we have to feed him supper before he goes, rush him out the door by 5:20pm, come home for less than 2 hours-- go pick him up. Then he eats the rest of his supper because the first supper was just something quick to tide him over and then he is wound up and goes to bed late. I work earlier hours on those days so that I can get him something to eat and out the door but then mornings are rough. Needless to say, it has not been particularly fun or easy to accomplish this.
I have now found a new daycare/preschool for Anthony. He will start next Monday at Linda's Lads and Lassies. She is someone I met through my Bible Study. I interviewed her for over 2 hours on the phone and then the 4 of us visited her home. It was awesome! We think Anthony will thrive in the new environment. She feeds the kids breakfast, then they all have to brush their teeth. After breakfast they have circle time or table time. This is the actual preschool portion. They learn about the calendar, letters, numbers, colors, etc. They have a great indoor play area for the kids too. She does field trips and has a great mini bus to transport the kids complete with car seats for all of them. They go outside every day if it's over 10 degrees. She is big on promoting independence and teaches the kids how to do things themselves. They say prayers before meals, sing songs AND she journals everything every day to send home with the parents. I am so excited to actually know what he's doing all day. At the current provider we really don't hear much about it.
About the only drawback is that she does not have room for Albi right now. She is really trying and hoping that he can come by summer. We're crossing our fingers. In the mean time, we'll just let him know that Anthony is going to school. I think it will go okay but time will tell. I'll update more in a few weeks and let you all know how everything is going.

Sounds wonderful...I'll keep my fingers crossed that she can fit Albi in soon too!!! Is Anthony excited? When does he start?

I know Anthony will be OK at Linda's, I do hope Albi doesn't miss him much. I do hope he goes there soon.
