We stayed close to home for this first camping adventure and just went up to Isanti. It was only about 30 minutes from our house. We had such a fun time that I'm actively trying to plan our next trip. We arrived after 6pm on Friday night to a light drizzle. Terry started work on getting the tent up while I tried to occupy the boys and get them some supper. We picked up fried chicken on the way to make it a less stressful evening. It really worked out well. After our camp site was up and organized we took a little walk to check out the campground. It was a beautiful, peaceful place and we had very private site. When we awoke on Saturday morning to a cool tent, it was a bit hard to get up as I would have preferred to snuggle with my boys and stay warm. They, however were raring to go! We enjoyed a delicious, warm breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast and then went to do some more exploring. We found a great play ground for the boys. They had a chance to "shake the wiggles out". It was a bit cool that day for swimming but the boys wanted desperately to go into the river. We did let them put their tootsies in but after about 20 minutes, they decided it was too cold. Without listing every single thing we did, rest assured we had a FUN filled weekend.
