Goin' on a Bear Hunt

Our Anthony is now 5! He turned 5 on Sunday, 8/23 but we celebrated mostly on Saturday at his birthday party. We had it at a Nature Center and the theme was GOIN' ON A BEAR HUNT. The kids were asked to bring their own teddy bears from home. They learned a bit about bears, read a story about a bear hunt, did a craft, played in a bear cave and went on a nature walk. It was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. After all their adventures, we had cake & ice cream and he opened gifts. He was thrilled with each and every one, exclaiming "it's what I always wished for" or "I always wanted that". He was so happy.
Later on Saturday we partied again, this time at a neighbors house. They were having a pool party just for fun. The boys got to swim a lot. They graciously heated the pool to 85+ degrees just for the party so it was actually warmer to swim than to sit and watch. They even had a hot tub with only warm water in it for the little kids to swim in. What a great idea that was!
Grandma Bonnie was here visiting since Thursday night. She watched the boys on Friday as their daycare provider had to take a bereavement day. Of course she was coming for Anthony's party anyway so it worked out well.
Yesterday to top off his birthday celebration, we finally put up their bunk beds. Everything went really smoothly other than Anthony's complete and udder sadness at saying goodbye to his car bed. I came up with a solution that seemed to work for everyone. We asked Grandma if Anthony's car bed could relocate to her house? She said okay and now we know she will take care of it and it will be there for him to sleep on when he visits. Now we have to ask Abu about relocating Albi's crib. It can be converted to a toddler bed so we may take it there.
By the way, both boys slept wonderfully in their new beds last night!
