Another One Bites the Dust...

As some of you remember we used to have a goldfish named Thomas. He was cute, clean and lively. He died some months back and it was truly sad. The boys cried when they had to say goodbye. After Thomas died we learned that gold fish are not supposed to be in a fish bowl without a bubbler and that we could get a Betta fish for our bowl. We did that and the boys named our new blue & red Betta, "Gordon". These are both train names in case you were wondering and Gordon is a blue train. I can honestly say, I never felt a bond with Gordon and often referred to him as "dirty birdie" or "gross". Terry or I would clean his bowl, change his water and in less than a week it would be slimy and with a film of gunk on top. He never swam much, just kind of boring to watch. Anyway, yesterday I fed him and he didn't go to eat. Then I flippantly said, "I think he's dead". Terry says "yep, he's fuzzy and white, I think he's definitely dead". We were just about to eat breakfast, so left him for a while. After breakfast we had our 2nd fishy funeral, held in the bathroom above the porcelain god. The boys said goodbye, Terry flipped him into the toilet and we flushed. Albi looked up at us with an impish smile and said "he's going to see the poops". We couldn't argue with that. Later in the day, Anthony said "I don't feel sorry for Gordon, he wouldn't eat". I said, well maybe he didn't feel good and that's why he didn't eat. No more fish for the Ludwig's ... for a while anyway.
